Collection agencies are necessary for businesses to collect on past debts that they have been unable to collect themselves. There tends to be a lot of hostility toward these agencies, because they are persistent in their attempts to collect on debts. Companies that hire these agencies will tend to see a better return on payments from outstanding debts. This makes collection agencies a valuable asset for companies that have an issue with lack of payments.
