Apart from writer’s block the writer was struggling to control his irresistible desires like alcohol, sex and drugs.

His aim is to prove to his girlfriend that he’s capable of being a faithful and responsible partner as well as a caring dad. The various conflicting circumstances that ensue in Moody’s day-to-day life and the situations he blames his writer’s block on are what create 30 minute episodes that are full of laughter and fun evoking in the audience a good dose of sympathy for Moody’s predicament.

The main cast also includes Evan Handler and Pamela Adlon who play, Moody’s agent and his wife. Damian Young acts the part of Bill Lewis, Karen’s fiance while Madeline Zima plays the role of Mia Lewis, Bill’s teenage daughter. Together they form the core of the cast with other recurring characters fleshing out the storyline and creating a tv series that’s much viewed and enjoyed.

As expected the show has received three awards till today and needless to say number of nominations. In the three awards received the two are Emmy awards are for Outstanding Cinematography in the successive years 2008 and 2009. Peter Levy and Michael Weaver are the two who are credited for these awards. The third award is the golden globe award won by Duchovny as best performance by a television actor. In nominations three are the Golden Globe nominations for Best representation of Hank Moody, this includes the award won in 2008.
