One of the premier TV shows in the United States of America is the reality competition TV show called as the “American Idol”. The reason I call this TV show as the premier TV show is because it has been in the number 1 slot for the past 5 years in succession ever since its debut 9 seasons before. The competition show is on the hunt for the best musical talent (both male and female) and they select them through auditions.

The first episode of American Idol was aired on June 11, 2002 in the Fox channel which was originally created by the great Simon Fuller, a versatile TV show creator. Ever since its launch in the television media, it has toppled all TV shows and is currently the number 1 TV show in the whole of America and is the biggest money grosser. This is actually adaptation from the Britain’s reality show called as the Pop Idol which was not a runaway hit as the American Idol.

The Premier TV show of the United States discovers the best singer in its country by conducting auditions in each and every big city. The interested candidates can come and deliver their goods in front of the auditioning committee and who knows, if they are impressed you might have a chance of being selected. Normally the audition round is merely a selection round where the audition committee checks whether the candidate is good enough to deliver the goods and of course there is an eligibility criterion that the candidate should be in the age range of 16-28 years.

The candidates clearing the audition round will be then called on to the studio and they will be asked to showcase their talent on a weekly basis in front of an elite panel of judges which will be aired on the TV. The television show is currently aired on every Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The judges review each performance and give marks on the basis of their performance. At the end of the day, one or two contestant/s will be eliminated.

Since candidates are eliminated in every round, there will be a time when the total number of contestants will be left to three and it will be finale time. In order to give the eliminated candidates a last chance to enter into the final round, the show conducts a wild card round where all eliminated candidates perform and the winner will join the other three. The total of four candidates will perform in live TV show for the last time and the winner which is selected on the basis of the highest number of votes secured by public poll will be crowned as the “American Idol”.

American Idol has been the most successful television show in the entire America and is widely followed by most people in this part of the world with great enthusiasm. For those of you who do not know much about the American Idol, then I would like to condense the plot by saying that it is a live talent show where selected candidates showcase their talents in singing and the ultimate winner is crowned as the American Idol. This article will give a brief introduction on my favorite American Idol till date and my personal rankings of the winners according to their talents.

I would also like to brief something about my favorite American Idol. It has been eight seasons since American Idol was telecasted for the first time on television and no one has impressed me as Kelly Clarkson. She is my favorite American Idol. She is extremely talented and I am sure everyone would agree with this fact. She is an awesome performer and her presence is so vibrant and elegant that she will blow our minds away. She is my sweetheart and I wish her good luck and success in every step.

Enough of my favorite stuff and let us come to the real part of the article. I would rank all the eight winners of American Idol TV show in terms of their talents and grace. This ranking is highly personal and there should be no controversy or gossip about this particular thing. Each and every winner in the American Idol TV show is unique and highly talented in their own and hence ranking this elite group is not a good idea. However, my personal rank-list of the American Idols is given below.

It is obvious that the number one ranking would go to Kelly Clarkson. Nobody will have any dispute regarding position I guess. The second rank would go to someone who is also in the same league as Kelly. My choice of the second best American Idol is Carrie Underwood. She too is a pretty young and highly talented lady with all the necessary ingredients to excel in the Hollywood. The third rank according to me goes to David Cook (season seven winner). This is where the controversy will begin. Most of you would rate Kris Allen as a better American Idol than David Cook, but to me, David was a better performer than Kris. Undoubtedly the fourth rank goes to Kris Allen (season eight winner).

The fifth rank would go to Mr. Ruben Studdard (season 2 winner). This guy is so cheerful and energetic that he will drive you crazy with his performances. According to me, the sixth rank would go to obviously go to Jordin Sparks. This lady needs special mention because of her charm and wits. I would place Fantasia Barrino at the number seven spot ahead of Taylor Hicks.

Inspired by the British ‘Pop Idol’ the United States of America started a reality game show called the ‘American Idol’ in June 2002. The show gives a chance for talented singers to make their way to become America’s favorite pop icon. Judged by a panel of four members, singers between 16 and 29 years of age can participate who finally get judged by the viewers.

American Idol has a unique logo with the letters ‘American Idol’ appearing in blue along an angled line in an oval. The show also boasts of a unique intro sequence spanning for 30 seconds. The intro sequence usually features the past winners of the show but in seventh season the American Idol intro sequence got creative showing an exciting performance of idols.

The show usually has 300 contestants advancing to the theatre round in which they are tested in three rounds (chorus, trio and then a solo). The winners of this round become semifinalists who get trained by experts and at this stage the viewers start voting. Contestants with leading votes march to the grand finale usually held at the Nokia Theatre, United States.

FOX channel broadcasts the American Idol Tv Show. It is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and the show goes for around 60 minutes. The judges give critiques and they also suggest tips and give advice to the contestants for improving their performance. Usually a colored card is used to indicate selection or elimination. Winners get a recording deal promised and also other benefits.
