Has The Internet Overcome Books For Research?
The transition from bound books to informative websites has been happening for a while now. Many people are opting to find their information on the internet, instead of in books.
Instead of heading to the local library for information, as in days past, many people are now just turning on their computers from the comforts of home. They are usually pleased with the information they can find on the internet, from a given website. Does this shift in the gaining of information mean the end of books?
In my opinion, no it does not. The fact of the matter is that there are just too many academics who rely heavily upon books, in their studies and chosen careers, to let books die out overnight.
Ask any university or college student and they would gladly tell you that their teachers want reliable sources of where they got their information. If the student told them they used a random website as a source that would be unacceptable.
In this age of technology anyone can own and operate a website claiming they are an authority on any given topic. With good marketing they can even become one of the top links in a Google search.
The site may look nice, and they may sound like they know what they are talking about, but who is to say that they really do? Websites are largely unregulated and it is not easy to tell what has been fact checked.
On the other hand we have books, which are generally written by accredited experts. The facts are checked and reviewed many times prior to printing. With books it is easier to weed out the good from the bad, and it is also easier to direct other people to the good, informative reads.
For the fact checks, and for the many people who will always love the feel of a good novel between their hands, I do not think that books will be going anywhere. At least not any time soon. As a book person, I hold out hope that the younger generations come to appreciate books the same way many of us already have.

E-Book Publishers Have To Be On Alert
Most people are aware that due to digital piracy, the movie and music worlds are faced with problems. Since the MP3s have been around, it is very easy to get a lot of music just by downloading it free of charge.
By choosing to get the music for free, such as on a platform for sharing files or a torrent website, this definitely puts a hurting on the sales of a lot of artists. The same is true with the movie industry when the movies are recorded first by movie pirates before they upload them to the sharing platforms.
In recent times, e-books are now being shared by this same method and the problem continues to grow. This came about suddenly and quickly.
As books take on digital form, one can easily access these books by visiting a torrent or file sharing site, illegally downloading these works free of charge.
Much of this can be attributed to the popularity of the Kindle and tablet PCs which enable the proliferation of the books by digital means.
This could potentially be a sharp blow to the publishing industry, and people should really consider their actions before taking part in such illegal activity.
The fact is that writers can take the time for the research and writing since they believe the end result will be great sales. If that industry gets a major blow, our world just might have way less writing that is high quality.
It is my belief that almost all of us do realize that we would surely be in a bad position if that should occur, so the best thing to do is to stop this illegal activity if you are doing it.
The sales of e-books skyrocketed above $37 million in the second quarter of 2009, which ultimately means that the regulators are going to be forced to deal with this issue since the use of e-books will likely keep growing.
Aside from books, the author additionally regularly shares on metal storage shelves and glass display shelves for sale.
