This is one movie that you should not miss. Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a tale of your average kid with not so average dreams. Its tag line says it all “I’ll be famous one day, but for now I’m stuck in middle school with a bunch of morons”. This is kid’s movie which has almost everything for the audience, right from small kids to grownups. The comedy is in adequate dose and for the philosophers this movie imparts a lot of morale teaching too.

The movie draws its inspiration from the hugely popular book “The diary of the wimpy kid” by Jeff Kinney. Having read the book I can safely say that the movie has retained all the exciting and comic parts of the book and the story line does drifts more that necessary. The characters are exactly like in the book and they all have been created the way they should have been.

The story revolves around Greg Heffley (excellently portrayed by Zachary Gordon); he is normal looking average school kid who is starting with middle school. Once he is in the class he makes a promise to himself that he will break his nerdy image and will become the most popular guy in his class, so that girls will start liking him. He lives with his family that consists of father, mother and a very insane elder brother who keeps him in check with his numerous pranks.

Rowley and Heffley have been friends since children but when they arrive in middle school Rowley decides to avoid Heffley to gain social status. On the other hand Rowley is unaware of such a situation and he is quite happy with the things around him.

A major twist in the story comes when a comic made by Rowley becomes hit in the school while Heffley’s is sent to the sidelines. This leads to jealously and their friendship breaks. To show each other that they don’t need the friendship to live they make new friends and start pretending that life is good. But eventually the bubble bursts and both realize their error in ways.

Both the lead actors in the diary of the wimpy kid have performed exceptionally well. And more so their chemistry is spot on. They have defined the friendship between Heffley and Rowley very nicely. Their minor squabbles and fights have been enacted to perfection. As a result the effect is quite visible and it supplements the story of the movie greatly.

Overall this movie is pure unadulterated fun. The story is fresh and for the first time any movie deals with rigors of a middle schooled kid. It is highly recommended for movie goers of all ages and especially kids.

A worth watching and a great film, Carlos, can give a warming welcome to the movies director and it’s our duty to promote him little higher. A Kiss at Midnight tells us a simple story of the triumph of true lovers in the times of adversity. It tells us to believe in the power of love, like people have been doing since lost past. The movie has its moments but it is more of a romantic movie than a romantic comedy. You yourself can guess the story. Two people who are made for each other, they finally meet, love seems to be in the air, then something catastrophic happens and then the mending of heart begins.

This movie has been directed by Bedford May. As said earlier that the general theme is like all the pictures in this genre but it is not that the plot is bland. It springs its own surprises at the right moments and that’s what makes this movie interesting. Also to note that it boasts of some fine acting by all the leading actors which improves the experience and the fun gets doubled.

The story revolves around Susan Flowers (played to perfection by Faith ford), she runs an old fashioned dating agency and takes pride in the work she does. The business is blooming as she has an impeccable record of making all her matched couples reach the altar. The only sad part in her life is that she is approaching 40 and still hasn’t been able to find a perfect guy for herself.

While the other agency is known as Romance.com and is owned by a widower named Josh. He has recently shifted to the city has two daughters. Both of these girls are sad because they are alone as their mother has died. In pursuit of a step mom they put Josh’s profile in his computer. While Susan puts her profile in Josh’s agency to check its authenticity.

The rest of it is predictable, Susan makes a profile on Josh’s computer to find the truth of the computer agency and Josh’s daughter puts his name there. The computer does the matching and there are no surprises. Josh and Susan are soul mates. They meet a couple of times and life seems to be happy until they confide their professions to each other. Both began to think that the other is there to sabotage their business and they break apart. Well the next part relates to their hardships and their story of finally coming together.

The acting in the movie is first rate with both the actors in top form. Since the movie has loads of comic capers in the beginning and both of these actors are known for their comedy hence it sets the tone for the later part of the movie. The daughters of Josh played by Jadin Gould and Abigail Mavity also deserve a special mention as they carried a movie on the pivotal points quite admirably.

It is true that there is nothing new in the story but the handling of the story is immaculate that in the end you start weeping from the heart that everything has turned perfectly the way it should have turned into. I would recommend this movie to everybody simply because it makes us genuinely happy from inside.

Real life is an unmatched stage where anything can go awry and anything can go awesome without any prior notice, and so things that happen can go on a comic path too. A tale of a conman, an imposter played by the brilliant Jim Carrey who goes by the name of Steven Jay Russell, he who plunges into love with his prison cellmate Philip Morris, played by Ewan McGregor, It is an amazing story with a catchy tagline as “the conman who wouldn’t go straight”.

The directors chair are two this time, as of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, both of whom have been in the past involves in number of brilliant projects as Bad Santa, Cats and Dogs and Bad News Bears . The double team creates a different aura for this movie, than ever seen before, they can make you rejoice, feel sad, loved and they have the power to make you smile.

Our director duo also takes up the pilot seat as the writers also, majestically raise the characters from the story and graciously take up the screen, creating a perfect setting up for the movie to a handsome persona. The plot gyrates beautifully along the protagonist and you feel him rising up as the story progresses.

The movie charges from the death bed of Russell revising the incidents of his life. He remembers himself as a dutiful cop, living happily with his wife, till he had a brutal accident that changed the path of his life.

After the accident, he had shifted to Miami, and lived an exotic luxurious life realizing he’s gay, and living with his gay partner. But soon he comprehends that this lifestyle is difficult to maintain, so he changes into a conman from a cop in his previous life. Soon, his activities are caught and he’s sent to prison.

That turns out to be a blessing in disguise, according to him as he meets the love of his life, Philip Morris his cellmate in prison. He doesn’t wants to be separated from his love, even when Philip is let out of the prison, and goes to various odd ways in the hope of reuniting with his gay lover. His tactics are amusingly funny, and leaves you a happy day in your heart. He goes to various lengths such as pretending to be a doctor and walking out of prison, plays a judge by stealing a badge and then orders up his own realise.

The role of Steven Jay Russell is played by Jim Carrey magically, without any inhibitions on the issue that the character is gay. Philip Morris is portrayed excellently by Ewan McGregor and that too quite wonderfully; he re-invents the character and adds various layers of qualities to the character, making him sizzle on the screen. He has a lot of experience having done some great work in; The Ghost Writer, Amelia, Angels and Demons and Funny People. No introduction is needed for Jim Carrey having done memorable performances in The Mask, Bruce Almighty, Me Myself and Irene.

Some of these movies have failed at the box office while some have been highly successful.

Inspired by a highly popular newspaper comic strip of the same name, Marmaduke is a live action movie which released on June 4, 2010. The original comic strip has been drawn by Brad Anderson ever since it started coming in the newspapers from 1954 onwards. Marmaduke the movie has been directed by Tom Dey and produced by John Davis while 20th Century Fox distributed the film. Vince Di Meglio, Tim Rasmussen and Brad Anderson have written this movie.

Marmaduke the comic strip on which the movie has been based has been very successful but Marmaduke the movie fails to create the same magic and lacks the original strip on a number of parameters. Marmaduke the movie looks more of a dog show and less of a movie with the humor almost missing. The plot looks interesting though when it comes down to the realities of film making the movie fails miserably at the onscreen show.

The acting is also not up to the mark and it seems that the actors have done overacting at many places while the voice actors also did not help the movie. The script could have been shortened and the jokes could have been made more meaningful and funnier. There are some positives in terms of the treatment of animals like humans and showing that they are no different. At some place the dialogues also seem cute.

It is amazing to see that in this risqu world there are still movies being made that are for die hard romantics. Letters to Juliet is one such movie. It is a complete family movie, one where you can watch without the thought of embarrassing yourself in front of your family. You can imagine this from the fact that there is not a single cuss word throughout the length of the movie.

Contrary to claims that movies based on Romeo and Juliet or true loves are art movies that are dreary to watch, Letters to Juliet entertains. Once you start watching the film you start rooting for the lead characters. Though you know the ending, but still you want them to reach there, that is how Letters to Juliet warms your heart. The only flaw in the script is the fact that people write to Juliet for love advice. And I used to think that her story is the one that teaches you the dangers of love life.

If you have gotten around that story, the rest of the movie is a lovely breeze. It’s about young Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) who lives with her fianc Victor (Gael Garcia Bernal) in New York, while she is a fact checker for The New Yorker. He is chef who is going to open a new Italian restaurant. To celebrate the completion of the construction of the restaurant the couple takes a vacation as their pre honeymoon to Italy.

In Italy while Victor is busy selecting the dcor, cuisine and wines for the restaurant. Sophie starts getting bored to death. As a way to kill time she decides to go on a sightseeing trip so as to know the beautiful locales in Italy. During her trip she sees an old house where people are posting letters which are all titled “To Juliet”. Seeing this she decides to stay to check what happens of the letters. In the end she meets three others girls who call themselves as Juliet’s assistants and they reply to all the letters.

Sophie joins them and one day she finds a very old letter in that disheveled house dated back in 1958, it tells the story of Claire who had lost her only love, an Italian guy because she couldn’t run away with her. She replies to that letter which leads to the chain of events and suddenly she finds herself to be a on a road trip with Claire and her grandson Charlie (Christopher Egan) to find the long lost love of Claire.

All the young actors present in the movie do not disappoint and acting is top notch in the movie. The only flaw is the lack of chemistry between the lead actors of the movie. While Amanda and Christopher are brilliant in their individual scenes but when together the magic seems to be missing this is such a bummer because this movie could have a classic.

The story is old but it does have its moments which make it very interesting to watch. Letters to Juliet is one movie where the true love beats all odds and there is no place for the cynics to survive.

There was a lot of expectation for the movie Sex and the City 2, as the movies first part Sex and the City turned out to be a great hit. The first scene of the movie is a flashback, in which Carrie thinks about the days when she met her friends for the first time and the days she enjoyed with them. After the flashback, they enter into the present world, where there out of four friends got married and are having a stressful life. All four feel that their life was happier earlier and after marriage, they find it difficult to manage husband and their children. Four of them meet each other in a same-sex wedding, where they enjoy to the Beyonce song sung by Liza Minnelli. The only one still unmarried was Samantha and she was 52 years old, entering her menopause stage. Charlotte has two children and she is concerned about her husband Harry as their Nanny Erin attracted him. Later towards the end of the movie, they find that Nanny is a lesbian.

Carrie and Mr. Big love each other and get married later. Unfortunately, both have a very contrast feeling when they plan for their spare time. Mr. Big likes to watch television in home and feel relaxed whereas Carrie wants to move out of her home during her spare time. In the mean time, Samantha gets an offer to fly to Abu Dhabi with her friends will all expenses taken care of an Arab Sheik for a PR campaign.

Carrie meets her old love in Abu Dhabi and has a date dinner with him. Lot of things happens in between and finally climax is a smooth and successful one as everyone goes back to their normal life.

The show is being currently broadcast in syndication on TNT prior to which the show was broadcasted on CBS from September 28, 2003 to May 2, 2010. Written by Timothy Slater, the show was created by Meredith Stiehm. Helmu and Franz Vonlichten are the theme composers, which also has an introduction by Michael.A.Levin while Nara created the opening theme. The music is not only used as an opening theme song, it also has a good role in taking you to the era to which the case originally belonged and therefore music has an important role to play in Cold Case.

This makes it easier for the viewer to go in the flashback. There have been a number of sources from where music has been picked up and a number of artists have given some effective numbers for the show.
