Tips For Authors Who Suffer From Writer’s Block

Writer’s block is the writers worst enemy (at least after you consider the writer’s measly paycheck). It’s the inability to get down to work when it is time.

Some writers compare it to squeezing a little blood from a rock. Writer’s block is a horrible thing to suffer from . But some experience indicates that you can blow up that block with a few simple tips and tricks.

The first and best way to beat writer’s block is to just give up writing – at least for a little while. Just get up from your chair and move on to something else for a little while. Sometimes you just need a break.

You might even need to use a little bit of sleep, like a nap, to get back to where you want to be mentally speaking. But the sleep is not all. A break is like taking a rest from physical labor. It gives your muscles time to rest and so does your brain. It’s so because of the way that things work so this way is to be true.

Sometimes you just need to get the junk out of your system. Sometimes a block is a block. Try just writing whatever comes into your head and not worrying about the quality. You can get back to the subject later when you have cleared yourself out.

Experience shows that just blowing out some lines on a page is just fine for clearing out the mental pipes. And sometimes that really is all it takes to get back on topic. You can clear out the blocks in this way without doing anything useful directly.

A thing to think about it also your diet. You should avoid eating the junk that is so prevalent for the type of people that you are one of. If you are eating a lot of takeout and fast food, the odds are good that you aren’t getting what you need in your body and any given time.

If you understand that you need the good food and maybe some vitamins to work out the kinks in your system. You can get back to work like the professionals who have everything they need to do what they do the best.

Few Tips For You To Improve Your Skill In Copywriting

Copy writing for the average writer is sort of a scary venture. It is different and sometimes intimidating. But do not let it get to you; you can overcome this and become a great copywriter. Here are a few little hints that can help you learn this new skill.

Start by eliminating the junk from your writing; the foolishness has got to go. The thing that kills a lot of good copy is a cute little nothing that turns the reader off. If your writing is full of crazy humor, then they will not take you seriously and you will fail to get the result you deserve.

The fact is that you are in the business of detailing a product. Not dazzling your college professor. Your content must be the fact. If your writing is filled with cute junk this is going to turn off the reader. They have limited time and want only the facts.

Second, your writing needs to be conversational. Do not add a lot of flowery words. And avoid professional terms that may confuse rather than sell. Keep your work like you would communicate with a friend. Just keep the grammar right.

Build trust in yourself and in what you are selling. If you do not build trust, the goal of selling will fall. You need to establish yourself as a likable human that is straight forward and honest.

Fourth, get someone else to build credibility for you. This can be done in the form of testimonials of people who have used the product and like it. The more of these within reason, the better. Several are good. Just be sure that each one does not bring up some objection to the product and that each one lifts the product.

If you are going to be good at copy writing then you need to practice. As you practice it will come easier and you will learn all the little things that make people rush to order.

Copy writing is not a hard thing. it just comes with its own rule so follow the suggestions and have yourself a great writing experience.

Make A Lot Of Income By Marketing E-books

There is a lot of money to be made on the Internet by selling e-books. It’s not very surprising; e-book publishing has been growing in popularity over the past few years. Anyone who takes it seriously and successfully launches an e-book publishing company may be able to make enough money to quit their day jobs.

Here are a couple of quick tips that, if you follow them, might make you rich.

1. Find out what the people want and give it to them. Selling what is in popular demand is always a good way to attract success.

A lot of people fail to do this; they can suffer huge losses by not catering to their audience. It is important to find out the kind of content that is selling and sell it yourself.

2. Be very liberal with your refund policy. Some people aren’t that comfortable with e-books; if they think they can get their money back, then they are more likely to not buy your product.

Give your customers the peace of mind that, no matter what, they will always be able to get a refund. A good refund policy can make all the difference when someone is deciding whether or not to make a purchase.

Most people will not ask for a refund maliciously. Just rest assured in the knowledge that for every refund you give, there are at least three people who were swayed in your direction because of your refund policy. It is a numbers game; lose some, win more.

So, to sum it all up, sell what’s popular and offer refunds. Add this to a good marketing campaign and you are well on your way to becoming a great e-book publisher.

My Skills In Writing Eversince I Was A Kid

Since I was a little kid I’ve wanted to be a writer. I started writing in grammar school. I would write skits and have my friends perform them.

After childhood I went through a phase where I didn’t write much though. I was an English major in college, but I only took a couple of writing classes. Then I went to law school and really put writing on the back burner. But I realized after two years in law school – I really missed the writing.

I decided to rekindle that passion. I signed up for some creative writing classes. That was step one. But the other thing I did was actually even more important to my development as a writer – I joined an online writing workshop.

The group only met in person twice a month. We would all upload our work to the online group age so that we could read each other’s stuff, then when we came together twice a month at a local restaurant we’d do discussion and critique of the work.

I started to write a novel during this period. Boy it was scary, but I decided to share it with the group so I could get some feedback. While I got the critique it helped me to realize that the novel wasn’t where it should be yet.

This could have been very discouraging, but oddly it wasn’t. Instead, I found it very constructive, and I was newly encouraged. The group members were positive about the work, thought it showed promise, and gave me direction for how to develop as a writer. Then I wrote a short story for critique and the group loved it. In a short span of time, with their help, I had grown greatly as a writer.

I’m still in this group two years later. I get valuable feedback and have a great time. In fact, I like it so much that I have joined two others. I like being in groups with people who share my passions and interests.

Not only has my writing improved a great deal, but I have made new friends. I now have a social network of people who have the same interests and passions that I do. It’s just a great experience all around.

The Argument Of Standard Books Versus E-Books

For the first time last year, more e-books were sold than traditional paper books. This has caused much discussion and consternation. Some think that traditional books have a sense of permanency. While these new developments are good, they don’t have the same reliability.

E-book advocates, however, assert that this changes how books are used in the sense that they have become more convenient to carry around and are practically indestructible. Not only have they become more affordable, they even come at no cost in many instances. Now, these arguments are all valid and have a lot of weight.

Still, there is no replacing that feeling of sitting down with your favorite book, a big steaming mug of coffee and the whole afternoon in front of you. Obviously, it all comes down to your own temperament, but it’s something digital books cannot yet replicate.

It’s hard to get lost in an e-book. Often, the print is small and you might be reading on a laptop, phone or other device where you could get interrupted by phone calls or e-mails. A printed book, on the other hand, is actually a great form of escape from the world.

There’s also the value to consider. Many first edition printed books are worth quite a lot of money. E-books, on the other hand, are practically a dime a dozen.

Another big difference is the price of books versus the cost of e-books. Generally, a book is going to cost more to purchase, but you’ll be able to place it on your shelf and not have to worry about losing it because of a technological malfunction.

Many people admit that technology has made life a lot easier in a variety of ways. This is one of its greatest contributions to man.

However, some may say that technology has been bad as far as the book world goes. Libraries and printed books are slowly being forgotten and it’s a real shame.

Comic Art

Comics is an old art form that is always new. In its current form, it is just over a century old, yet it is just as fresh as today’s strips. It has adapted to nearly every communications medium introduced in the last century, yet it is still produced with tools that are as old as the written word.

It is considered lowbrow trash by some (see, for example, Jack Chick tracts or Tijuana Bibles), pop culture by many (see the current spate of comic book based films and the books from which they are derived), and high art by a few (see Gary Groth and Art Speigelman). Some creators have even managed to start at one end of the scale and work their way to the other (see Will Eisner and Robert Crumb).

Comic art is used for educational and instructional purposes as well as it is for entertainment value. It has provided icons for our modern culture, even as it tore down that same culture or provided an escape from it. Comics are to art what water is to a Taoist: infinitely adaptable, ever changing.

Comics is an ephemeral medium, flashed briefly on the screen or held briefly in the hand, then discarded or stashed away while the reader moves on to the next task of their day.

In thinking about it that way, it makes you wonder why anyone would bother putting in so much effort to make good comics, and its probably that ephemeral nature that contributes to the perception of comics as an immature or irrelevant medium.

Yet, if the comic creator has done their work diligently and well, they will have produced something, an impression or insight, that will last well beyond the short span that is spent actually experiencing the art. It is when that lasting impression is achieved that comics (in any format) has succeeded, and truly lives, as art.
