My Skills In Writing Eversince I Was A Kid
Since I was a little kid I’ve wanted to be a writer. I started writing in grammar school. I would write skits and have my friends perform them.
After childhood I went through a phase where I didn’t write much though. I was an English major in college, but I only took a couple of writing classes. Then I went to law school and really put writing on the back burner. But I realized after two years in law school – I really missed the writing.
I decided to rekindle that passion. I signed up for some creative writing classes. That was step one. But the other thing I did was actually even more important to my development as a writer – I joined an online writing workshop.
The group only met in person twice a month. We would all upload our work to the online group age so that we could read each other’s stuff, then when we came together twice a month at a local restaurant we’d do discussion and critique of the work.
I started to write a novel during this period. Boy it was scary, but I decided to share it with the group so I could get some feedback. While I got the critique it helped me to realize that the novel wasn’t where it should be yet.
This could have been very discouraging, but oddly it wasn’t. Instead, I found it very constructive, and I was newly encouraged. The group members were positive about the work, thought it showed promise, and gave me direction for how to develop as a writer. Then I wrote a short story for critique and the group loved it. In a short span of time, with their help, I had grown greatly as a writer.
I’m still in this group two years later. I get valuable feedback and have a great time. In fact, I like it so much that I have joined two others. I like being in groups with people who share my passions and interests.
Not only has my writing improved a great deal, but I have made new friends. I now have a social network of people who have the same interests and passions that I do. It’s just a great experience all around.

Three Tips To Improve Your Writing Skills
So many people complain that on why they cannot write. But what people do not realize is that writing is a skill that has to be developed the same way dancing and playing the piano is honed. Every person must be able to know how to come up with a decent article or essay. Writing is a form of communication that, as social beings, we cannot live without. Polish up your writing skills with these few tips.
Tip # 1: Write something you like.
You cannot expect yourself to write on demand. That is exactly the reason why you had a difficult time handing in a 500-word essay on the “Bronze Age” or “the rise of the homo sapiens species”.
You just cannot expect yourself to write about something that you understand. This is why picking a topic is extremely crucial.
To come up with a good topic, all you have to do is to ask yourself a few questions. What are your hobbies? What are you very passionate about?
Just write.
When you’re on the process of completing your essay, you should refrain from editing your work.
Although it’s never wrong for you to edit your essay, you should refrain from doing so at the same time that you are writing. You should not interrupt yourself from thinking of new ideas and putting those ideas on paper. It’s just the same thing as not interrupting someone who is the middle of saying something. At the same time, editing right away will make you more vulnerable to missing a few mistakes.
Proofreading, or editing, your work is essential for you to come up with a written work that is understandable. But only do so after you have finished your essay.
Tip # 3: Practice, practice, practice.
In order for you to improve your writing skills, you need to write, write and then write some more.

Grow To Be The Best Writer You Can Be
Desire to be a self confident author, who writes effortlessly? Writing is mutually a talent, plus a habit, also over time, writing will occur absolutely naturally to you. This is how to hurry up the procedure.
After you initially set out writing no matter whether as being a passion, or as a potential job, you may undergo a bunch of self-doubt. This really is ordinary. Nonetheless, do not permit your doubts to stop you from writing.
It’s essential put pen to paper, each day, so that you simply get into the routine. After you’ve developed your writing muscles, writing will probably be a lot less difficult than it is at present. You’ll write as smoothly as you talk.
Respect these 3 methods.
1. Lay down clear writing objectives
What do you wish to write? Begin small, and develop your self-belief. As your self-belief grows, you may aspire for larger writing ambitions and you will know that you are able to do them.
Creating a blog is very constructive for a beginning author. A web site forces you to put in writing, not to mention to distribute your writing. On the whole new writers are shy regarding showing their writing – running a blog eliminates this shyness, that may stagger you in your writing profession.
Be cautious of great pursuits, such as writing a book. Even though it is possible to pull off this objective with no trouble, as a book is written word by word, as is everything else you write, the sheer scale of the objective can head to procrastination during your earliest years as an author.
2. Focus on a writing mission entirely
Write when you are writing. Now put in writing whatever words befall, have faith in yourself. Appreciate that writing is an imaginative act of discovery. It utilizes your inventive right brain. Editing utilizes your left brain. Do not try and revise as you’re writing, only write.
Given time, you will work out methods that allow you to definitely enter a writing mood, comparable to playing certain sorts of music, or doodling. Sooner or later, just sitting down by your PC will plant you into a writing mood.
3. Have a good time – shake off your self-consciousness
Generally writers experience self consciousness for the initial few years. It is very ordinary, because writing can be described as performance art. Nevertheless, like actors on a podium getting into their parts, you’ll ultimately turn out to be so adapted to writing that it comes naturally.
The simplest way to reduce self consciousness would be to relax when you’re writing. Treat it like a fun hobby.
Should you be a devotee of these 3 guidelines, you’ll turn out to be a thriving author.
Advice For Writing Suspense Fiction Books
Writing suspense fiction bookscreatively is a process that is as fun as it is rewarding. If you’re trying to write a fiction book of your own, then I applaud you. No doubt, you have a couple of favorite authors you enjoy reading, and you at times wish you could write like them. But the thing to remember is this, that while most authors share some basic writing mechanics, the brilliance comes from the uniqueness of the author. This is what you need to find for yourself.
Take a good hard look at your favorite author. Then compare what you find with a couple of others. You’ll see that underneath, there are similarities, but for the most part, it’s the uniqueness of each of them that stands them apart. Creativity in creative people, yearns to be let out. Writing is one of the ways that it can make it’s way into the world. If it’s inside you, then don’t look for it anywhere else. Learn how to tap into the creative flow that is distinctly and uniquely YOU.
People have different ways of responding to their creative sides. Many are similar, but never the same. Creative people tend to be stimulated more than the average Joe by outer influences. These are things like weather, starry skies, oceans, and other things in nature. They see things with a different slant than others. They marvel and wonder at things in the world, and their light shines on everything in a very different color than others.
Creative people have intense moods that can be affected by weather or other people. Solitude doesn’t seem to bother them as much as it does others, because it’s here that they can tune in to their creative forces and find a unique kind of comfort there. They contemplate the creator, the long for something intriguing. Some will paint, some will build, and some will write. They must have an outlet for the feelings that swell up within them. So your writing should be a flow. You should learn to build the suspense, but also let yourself flow through your words.
Many of these creative types prefer to ‘write by the seat of their pants’. Which is a method of writing called Freewriting, or Pantsing. They begin their journey with a mere seed of an idea. They may only scribble a few notes about the idea, not knowing where it may lead them, and off they go, winging it along their way. Their story unfolds as it gets written. They aren’t under any pressure to make the story bend to any preconceived plans or plots.
This freewriting, of course, means that the first draft will be very rough indeed. From here comes the duty of hard editing. There will no doubt be many things that simply get thrown out, and new things added during this process. You’ll also be able to spot some things that you want to improve on and embellish. This first draft is in now wise intended to be a perfect example of what the finished work will be, but it’s a base to work from.
One part of the writing process that can be tricky even for the veterans, is in the exposition. Deciding when to explain the plot or let the readers draw some conclusions of their own. There are times when information about the plot needs to be revealed, and others when it should only be partially revealed, or just hinted at, allowing the readers interest to be peaked, but giving them something to chew on and think about.
Advice for writing suspense fiction books can be found readily available if you go online and search it out. It’s a very involved process for some, and the different techniques that many successful authors use can take a lot of time to understand, and even more time to learn how to implement them into your writing style. Writing is one of the greatest creative outlets. So if you’re one of these creative people yearning to set your inner creativity free, try your hand at writing. It can be fun, adventurous, and very rewarding.

Sharpe Author’s Latest Book To Be Made Into A Film
‘Agincourt’ the most recent book by Bernard Cornwell author of the Sharpe series is due to be adapted into a film. Bernard’s latest book unsurprisingly relates to the events around the 1415 English /French battle through the eyes of Thomas Hook an English longbowman.
London-based Independent Film Co. owned by Luc Roeg’s has employed Michael Hirst to adapt the book, Michael has gained acclaim with creating the Tudors series, writing the screenplays for the films Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
The Novel ‘Agincourt’ has done remarkably selling over 200,000 copies in 3 months since its release in the UK and spending over 4 weeks on the New York times best sellers list. The book not the first of Bernard Cornwells to be adapted, his Major Sharpe character having had over 15 TV films made, 12 of them based (sometimes much to vaguely.) on the Sharpe books set in the Napoleonic era .
Until now the Battle of Agincourt has had virtually no film exposure outside remakes of Henry V, but it is a battle where the much smaller English army of mainly archers defeated a much larger and better equipped French army of knights. It is believed up to10,000 French died with a loss of only 112 English casualties. It has been noted as being the battle which brought about the death of chivalry, and is also believed to of been the origination of the English two fingered salute.
The film is to be shot on a budget of a modest $35 million, and is due to start shooting at some point in 2011, cast and location at this point are unknown.
It is currently unknown if the film will be due to be dubbed for a French release, but somehow we doubt it will do good business on the French side of the channel. We are also hoping for a film release date of St Crispin’s day which was the date of the battle in 1415, but that may be hard to do.
Bernard Cornwells is most famous for his Richard Sharpe books. Of which Sharpe’s Trafalgar is an excellent example.
Bernard Cornwell Book ‘The Burning Land’ Out Now
Bernard Cornwell the Author of the Sharpe series of books release his New Work the burning lands on the 1st of October in the UK. His last book Azincourt has a bestseller entering the New York Times list at number 4, and remained in the list for a number of weeks, and is reported to of sold over 100,000 copies in the first month.
Bernard is a prolific writer and has written over 40 books, including the Richard Sharpe series of books, and the much acclaimed Warlord series which gives a fresh and feisty retelling of the Arthur tale.
The book is the 5th in the Saxon chronicles series following on from The Last Kingdom, The Pale Horseman, The Lords of the North and Sword Song. It follows the continuing exploits of Uhtred of Bebbanburg ( who was raised by the Vikings ) as he continues to fight for King Alfred against the invading Viking forces.
As the story continues Uhtred will face the violent invader and would be ruler of Wessex, Harald Bloodhair. Whom because of King Alfred’s delicate state of health grasps for the throne, as England appears vulnerable and weak to the power hungry Vikings. The story reaches its climax as both armies prepare to clash in a decisive battle at Farnham in Sussex.
Similar to many novels this fall the release date has been timed to avoid competition from Dan Browns latest release ‘The Lost Symbol’, and 2 weeks space has been left to allow the book to receive the much needed promotional space both in bookstores and online.
The book is due a January release in the US which is after the Christmas period for reasons which are beyond our comprehension, unless books are not usually bought as Christmas presents in the States.
The Richard Sharpe Series of Books written by Bernard Cornwell has been a firm favourite of fans of historical fiction for a number of years now, and has also been adapted into a TV drama featuring Sean Bean amongst others.
Learn How To Write Your Own Book
It’s amazing. I’ve been writing books for years, and selling them online for nearly 15 years, and previously only in print through selling foreign licenses, or printing them myself, advertising them, and selling them either online or in classes I taught.
Now there is a better way. If you have something you want to say, you can put it in print, or sell it online and there is no difficult about doing that. If you don’t know where to start, there are writing coaches that can give you a hand by discussing topics, subjects, and what you are passionate about.
Just tell a provider of services what you want to say, and they’ll write it for you. There is a little company we know of that does that for English writers, www.lifeimprovementbooks.com. And another for Spanish writers, www.ipublicidades.com . And they have done work for several authors around the world for several years. They have a team of writers in English, Spanish, and French that can help you tell your story. Many companies exist to help beginning authors, and the ones that help that most are the ones who ‘draw out’ what you want to tell your readers easily.
If you’ve already created a draft of your book, you are more than 50% there. The next step involves editing, proofreading, refining, and creating a proper layout for book printing.
With these professional services type of company, the layout of your own book is relatively inexpensive, takes only a few days, and can be delivered ready to print to the printer of your choice. Don’t know which printer to use? Or, only need a very few copies, or just one copy of a special book for a friend – not a problem. Don’t know what size to print. Here’s a general rule of thumb: Workbooks for workshops, A4 or 8.5″ x 11″, Executive paperback of technical value 7″ x 10″, Highest Quality Paperback for Self-Help or Fiction 6″x9″, Mass market paperback 5.5″ x 8.5″ or smaller. And yes, you can get just ONE copy printed if that’s all that you need.
In today’s industry of book publishing, if you need a private edition of your family tree and history for 10 members – not a problem. If you are going to teach a private class to 4 students and you need a 500 page manual – not a problem. If you want to sell one book at a time from your website, to a person interested in it in Timbuktu – not a problem.
And if you want your book on Amazon.com for sale – or Amazon Kindle books – also not a problem. The world is changing and the book printing and distribution industry as well. And if you just want one copy for the world to remember you by, just sign it and put it in your time capsule – not a problem.
From writing, to editing, proofing, translating, typesetting, printing books, distributing online, or through Amazon – the world has changed. And the author inside of your that may have been restricted by past technological restrictions has been, at last, set free to share his or her wisdom with the rest of the world, one copy at a time.
Become an author – easily without stress. It’s easy to do, one copy or a million, online or on Amazon.com. Unleash the inner author within!
