For the highest ratings of CBS the credit goes to the show CSI TV. This is an extraordinary blend of crime and drama. The show CSI is also known as CSI: Las Vegas. CSI means Crime Screen Investigation. Almost ten years back this show started on 6th October 2000. The producer of the show was Jerry Bruckheimer, the creator was Antony E Zuiker and most of the shooting was carried out at California’s Universal Studios.

Suspense and mysterious murders and the trace evidences left behind take the series further. The crime investigators try to solve the mystery by considering the evidences found at the site of crime and try to resolve the case. The series is focused on these crime investigators while doing this. This is done is a very logical manner. The people related to law enforcement have condemned the show intensely but it is hugely popular in public. It has high ratings and that too continuously ensuring the long lasting popularity.

In fact, the series went on to gain the distinction of being the most viewed show in the year 2002 allowing CBS to come up with spin-off like CSI: Miami and CSI: NY that keep viewers glued to their seats for the 90 minute duration of each episode.

The members of the forensic team are the main characters in the series. At present the chiefs if the team are Ray Langston (actor is Laurence Fishburne) and Catherine Willows (played by Marg Helgenberger) who is the director of the night shift. They are level 2 and level 3 CSIs. It must have been noticed that there is a change in a lot of major characters throughout the ten sessions.

Many star actors have performed in CSI like Kate Walsh, Dakota Fanning, Stephen Baldwin, Chad Michael Murrey, Kelly Rowen, Stacey Dash and Faye Dunaway. In an episode of seventh season named “Fannysmackin” Kevin Federline played a role of a gangster called “Pig”. A role of Haley Jones in the episode of ninth session named “Turn Turn Turn “was played by singer Taylor Swift.

The number of episodes in each season ranged from 23 to 25. But season 8 was very short of only 17 episodes. An episode aired on 19th May 2005 was seen by large number of people, as many as 35 million. It was directed by Quentin Tarantino. The total number of episodes of CSI aired by CBS so far is 206.
