Terrified, Lenny flees, and Oscar is left with the dead whale which he sees as his ticket to fame and glory, giving himself the title of Sharkslayer.

It was the revengeful attitude of Don Lino (Robert De Niro), father of Frankie and Lenny that was on fire and intended to finish off the life of Oscar. This show was one of the most popular television series in the entire United States of America which was aired from 20th January 1998 to May 2003. The story concentrated on the teens and has a fictionalized city named Capeside in Massachusetts. This television series is recognized across the globe and is rerun in many other countries simply because of its overwhelming response from the audience.
This particular TV show has its own fictionalized town called the Capeside in Massachusetts and has four main characters in it. One character among the four is called Williamson, played by Dawson Leery. These four main characters in this show are into the first year of high school and are close friends at the starting. And probably you would have guessed the storyline by now, wherein these guys are coping with the teenage after the adolescent period and introspecting into things in a deeper manner.
These four friends have been portrayed in such a manner that they have reached the audience very well. Each of these characters has many different sides to their personalities and is very complex to explain. But the directors have been excellent in this regard in making the people understand the characters in the best possible manner.
Apart from the excellent storyline the show also has an excellent music score, at least for the first three seasons. Each season has had some really good episodes but many viewers believe that one of the best episodes by far was the Longest Day which was part of the 3rd season. Out of the four characters, Joey and Williamson were liked by the public and probably their onscreen relation added to this popularity of theirs. At the end of the sixth season, the relationship between Joey and Williamson is brought to an end in a rather emotional manner.
When the series first aired in 1998 many people had different views as the series covered a number of different teenage issues and some of them were shown in a way that not many people appreciated it. The show ran into some controversies with its racist dialogues that went beyond the teenage mindset.

Terry Pratchett: The Light Fantastic

Relatively unknown in America, Terry Pratchett was the number one best-selling author in Great Britain during the 1990′s, and only J. K. Rowling has sold more books than Pratchett in the UK since 2000. The Light Fantastic is the classic second novel in his Discworld series from back in the 1980′s when it all began.
While the events of Pratchett’s novels take place on an imaginary Discworld, they are really parodies on various cultural phenomena from our own world. The Light Fantastic makes delightful fun of the religious fanaticism that can arise from the belief that the world is coming to an end. Book burning bonfires abound, lynch mobs chase after the unconverted, and frightened hordes flee the cities like rats off a sinking ship.
Through the book, we follow the fortunes of a “failed” wizard named Rincewind who possesses a singular talent for surviving by running away. And run he does, because practically everything frightens Rincewind.
That is, everything except for the one thing that has got everyone else in a state of panic: The Red Star appearing in the sky that keeps growing brighter and hotter by the hour. Other than Rincewind, the only other person unconcerned about the new celestial threat is his friend Twoflower, who says of Rincewind: “If there was anything at all to be frightened about, he’d be frightened. But he’s not. The star is just about the only thing I’ve ever seen him not frightened of. If he’s not worried, then take if it from me, there’s nothing to worry about.”
In the end, it turns out that Twoflower is right in using Rincewind as the barometer for any real threat to the world as they know it. Rincewind is, after all, the Discworld’s leading authority on when to panic.
Rincewind and Twoflower’s adventurous journey includes saving an unappreciative sacrificial virgin, visiting a forest of talking trees and a lair of friendly trolls, flying through the sky on a rock levitated by druid magic and through the universe in a magic gift store, and narrowly escaping the scythe of Death in the netherworlds: Things that are the stuff of myths and legends in our reality but almost commonplace on the Discworld.
But what the story really boils down to is a powerful magic spell that’s hiding in Rincewind’s brain, biding its time and waiting for the Red Star to appear, at which time it plans to reunite with seven other ancient spells that are to be read together for the purpose of turning the path of Great A’Tuin away from the menacing Red Star.
Great A’Tuin, needless to say, is the enormous sea turtle carrying the Discworld on its back through the Universe. Just in case you were of the mistaken impression that all planets were spherical and revolved around stars.
The Light Fantastic is British humor at its very best. Even those who normally don’t like British humor would likely be hard pressed to not laugh out loud while immersed in this novel.

Underworld fans will really love the latest movie ‘Rise of the Lycans’ as it has all the mix of blood, gore and adventure. The film delves into the reason for the start of the war between the Lycans and the Death Dealers. The reason for the dispute is a very predictable one a la Romeo and Juliet stories.
The director of the first two installments Len Wiseman returns to produce the third one and Patrick Tatopoulos is the director of this movie. The story goes like this: Viktor is the head of the vampire clan in Eastern Europe but he fears the werewolves as they are very strong and barbaric in nature. But to give twist to the tale one of the captured female werewolf gives birth to a child which looks more like a human.
This child grows up to become a blacksmith for the vampire tribe and works like a slave. This child grows up to become Lucian. To add further twist he is madly in love with Sonja, daughter of Viktor. He knows it is a sin to love Viktor’s daughter but he cannot leave the beautiful Sonja. They even meet secretly from time to time.
The Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans movie is actually a prequel to the previous two Underworld movies. Len Wiseman, the director of the first two movies, produces this one but the leading star, Kate Beckinsdale, can only be seen towards the end of the film and that too in the form of a clip from the first film. Special Effects man Patrick Tatopoulos is the man behind the camera this time and does one hell of a good job. Like the other two movies, this one is rated ‘R’ for the free display of blood and gore. Rhona Mitra disappoints us all with barely any skin show.
The latest Underworld movie is as much enjoyable as the previous two editions. The action is fast and furious and goes well with the storyline. Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy as Lucian and Viktor are brilliant. Rhona Mitra handles her role quite well but falls much short of expectations. After all, it is hard to replace someone of the caliber of Kate Beckinsdale. The film scores heavily with the critic as it has the right casting and a very good director in Patrick.
The actors perform creditably and each one of them gives a scintillating performance. Martin Sheen and Bill Nighy deserve special mention as both of them deliver creditable performances. Rhona Mitra steps into the shoes of Kate Beckinsdale and fails miserably. It is real hard to accept Rhona in her place. The film as a whole may seem dj vu but is still worth a single watch. The blood has to be there in a vampire vs werewolves story as the film shows medieval weapons being used. So it is better to keep the children at home and watch it all alone.
The Underworld fans all over should rejoice. The movie is doing great at box office and there is no reason why the producers won’t be tempted to bring out a fourth edition in the future.
